Republican Atheists’ President Lauren Ell responds to Trump’s Charlottesville statement

Republican Atheists’ President Lauren Ell released this response to Trump’s controversial statement to the violence in Charlotteville, Virginia on August 12, 2017.

“I think Trump has done an excellent job at explaining recent events. Anyone who has been following domestic violence closely for the past two years would understand why he said ‘all sides.’ The violent left has been atrocious – blocking freeways, shutting down speakers on campuses, attacking people, damaging property. They are connected to the largest mass police killing since 9/11 that happened in Texas as well as the Berkeley riots that resulted in multiple injuries and over $100k in damage. Do not forget the man who gunned down Republicans at a baseball game. The media made little effort to explain who was behind those events and politicians/celebrities even publicly promoted it. Also – what is the limit of re-writing history? As he pointed out, Washington and Jefferson were slave owners. Students have already attempted to re-name buildings on ivy-league universities and alter curriculum to fit their agenda.”
