Republican Atheists’ first LIVE online Q&A stream was a success

Success! Republican Atheists’ first live online Q&A stream went well on February 16, 2018 at 6pm PT.

The Q&A stream was hosted by Republican Atheists’ President Lauren Ell who is experienced in live streaming. Live streaming is when a broadcast is streamed live (usually through a website), and people can view the the stream from their computers or other electronic devices.

In this case, popular live streaming platform called Twitch was used. Ell broadcasted live through a webcam and microphone while viewers had the option to join a chat to communicate with each other and ask Ell questions directly.

There were five viewers total. The chat contained three participants coming from Arizona, Michigan and Delaware. One participant is involved in a noted atheist organization and said the live streaming session is a great idea. Topics discussed were US military, Sweden, personal backgrounds, such as political affiliation, and development of Republican Atheists.

Republican Atheists hopes to host more live streaming sessions like this in the future. It is a great way to do outreach and to obtain feedback from people connected to Republican Atheists.
