Republicans Overseas is an official organization represented in over 40 countries. The organization formed in 2013 with the specific goal of repealing the Foreign Account Tax Compliant Act (FATCA) that was passed in 2010. FATCA requires all Americans living domestically or abroad to file yearly reports on their non-US financial accounts to the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network.

According to Republicans Overseas, “FATCA was intended to prevent domestic Americans from illegally hiding their taxable wealth in foreign banks, but it has instead created significant hardships for law abiding overseas Americans.”

Democrats Abroad also opposes FATCA.

Republicans Overseas can be found in Canada, Ireland, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Sweden, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Germany, Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary, Ukraine, Moldova, Russia, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Abania, Macedonia, Greece, Turkey, Lebanon, Israel, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, India, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Taiwan, Philippines, South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Australia.

The organization has no official connections to the Republican National Committee (RNC) and therefore does not receive funding; however, Republicans Overseas’ chairman, Bruce Ash, and vice-chairman, Solomon Yue, serve on the rules committee of the RNC.

Republican Atheists looks forward to building more connections with Republican groups domestically and abroad.
