Republican Atheists’ President Lauren Ell launched an in-depth evolving list on her personal blog that reports businesses and noted individuals that have left the state of California, as well as incidences of corporations investing in other states.
During the last few years there has been an increase in discussion regarding corporations moving their headquarters out of California. Toyota, Nestlé and Hewlett-Packard are just the tip of the iceberg of companies that have left the golden state in the last decade. This ongoing trend shows the renowned blue state will be in for a wake up call when it comes to following through with improving infrastructure and developing social welfare programs that are dependent on taxation.
Noted individuals leaving California have also received press. Elon Musk, one of the wealthiest men in the world, relocated to Texas. A number of big names in Silicon Valley have also fled the state.
