Recognizing the Jillian Becker Lecture hosted by The Freedom Association
Jillian Becker is a celebrated atheist conservative who was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, on June 2, 1932, and has lived in Italy, Britain and, currently, the United States. Her professional background and activism has received so much attention that, with her recommendation, an annual lecture was established in Britain in her honor, known as the Jillian Becker Lecture.
The lecture was launched in 2018 by British-based organization The Freedom Association, a non-partisan, centre-right, libertarian pressure group. Lecture speakers have included Anthony Daniels (pen name: Theodore Dalrymple) (2018), Douglas Carswell (2019), and Professor Simon Heffer (2020).

For over ten years Becker has been building an impressive community geared around her blog known as The Atheist Conservative, which is now boasting an active Facebook page with over 10,000 followers. Becker is most known for her published book, Hitler’s Children: The Story of the Baader-Meinhof Terrorist Gang, where she focused on the German Red Army Faction. She has helped advise the British parliament on terrorism, and was a co-founder of the organization Institute for the Study for Terrorism (IST).
