Lauren Ell and Dr. Robert M. Price of Republican Atheists met in North Carolina
Republican Atheists’ President Lauren Ell and Board Member Dr. Robert M. Price met for the first time in North Carolina on July 15, 2018.
Ell launched Republican Atheists in February 2017 and immediately recruited Price, a long-time Republican and published author, as a board member. Both Ell and Price have voluntarily worked on developing Republican Atheists for nearly two years, communicating primarily through email.
It was wonderful for the two to finally meet in person and share a few words.
Also in attendance was Republican Atheists’ North Carolina correspondent Kayla Saunders and Matt Hebb, Chair of Policy and Resolutions for the Young Republicans National Federation, and is also the Raleigh Republican Club president. Saunders and Hebb also collaborate in a group called Triangle Urban Republican Network based in Raleigh, North Carolina, which Hebb also happens to be president of. Triangle Urban Republican Network has featured Price in the past on a panel discussion that focused on the topic of religion in the Republican party. Hebb and Saunders have been great advocates for Republican Atheists.
Price was kind enough to sign his books Atheism and Faitheism (2014) and Biblical Buddhism: Tales and Sermons of Saint Iodasaph (2011) and give each of us a copy.
Price and Ell look forward to working together as Republican Atheists continues to develop and gain connections and notoriety throughout the country.
