Republican Atheists hosted first meet and greet in Phoenix, Arizona
Republican Atheists’ first meet and greet was hosted in Phoenix, Arizona on May 13, 2019, and area that has shown much interest in the organization.
A member of the Humanist Society of Greater Phoenix reached out to Republican Atheists’ President Lauren Ell to participate in a speaking engagement. Unfortunately the engagement fell through, but Ell was planning to be in Phoenix anyway and decided to host a meet and greet at the Cheesecake Factory. The meeting was open to anyone who was interested in attending.
Five attendees were present, along with Ell. One of the attendees was Scott Root, Republican Atheists’ Arizona Correspondent. This was the first time Lauren Ell and Scott Root met in person. Scott happens to be involved in local Republican activities and enjoys networking.
The attendees had casual conversation while they enjoyed their meals. The majority of attendees were registered Republicans. One attendee was a former president of Secular Student Alliance at Arizona State University.
Republican Atheists looks forward to hosting more meet and greets in the future. Reach out to us if you are interested in participating by emailing info[at]republicanatheists.com.
