Republican Atheists’ Pennsylvania Correspondent shares how she sent feedback to Marco Rubio
While watching Marco Rubio speak during the presidential debates and rallies, I observed he mentioned “freedom of religion” often. I liked his messages and direction, and wondered how many atheists write him off because of the simple statement of “freedom of religion” which assumes a religion. I thought, how much better would this message be if he didn’t only mention freedom of religion but also from it?
I did a quick google search with “contact Marco Rubio” and came up with a reputable .gov link.
https://www.rubio.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/contact
There I offered him feedback on improving his campaign verbiage to apply to more people. Changing “freedom of religion” to “freedom of and from religion” or “freedom of religion or freedom from religion” tailors the message to any religious person and the non-religious.
Many religious conservatives don’t realize conservative atheists are a vast and growing population.
Why not tailor the messages to the religious people and the non religious?
I don’t care what religion a presidential candidate is. I care what path they are going to put our country on and will always vote for policies that help our country be fiscally responsible, protect our freedoms, create work opportunities, and enforce personal accountability.
