Republican Atheists’ President Shared Her Journey with Epilepsy

Republican Atheists’ President Lauren Ell shared her journey with Epilepsy on podcast Life & Transformation with Mar in February 2017 to promote awareness and conversation.

Ell began having seizures at 21 years old and was diagnosed with Epilepsy at 25. In the podcast Ell discussed what it was like to start having seizures, how she eventually sought help and what she recommends to others who begin experiencing health problems.

Additionally Ell and podcast host Mar Oscategui (pictured above) discussed statistics about Epilepsy, such as approximately how many people are impacted by the illness worldwide. They also discussed various forms of seizures and symptoms. Did you know there are over 50 kinds of seizures?

One of Ell’s favorite Epilepsy awareness organizations is End Epilepsy, which has actually featured Ell’s story in the past. Additionally End Epilepsy hosts awareness marches in the United States.
