Scrap Arizona Secretary of State’s biased voter engagement program that favors Democrats

Arizona Secretary of State, Katie Hobbs, is hosting a biased voter engagement URL program that must be scrapped immediately for giving voter engagement advantage to the Democratic party.

The program was first launched in 2020 as a response to the pandemic. It grants a limited number of organizations a unique voter engagement URL so voters can easily go to their websites for voting information and to register to vote online. More details about the program can be found here.

Not all organizations that apply for the URL are granted the feature. The Secretary of State selects a limited number of organizations that apply because supposedly the URL itself is limited.

When looking at the organizations that were selected to receive the URL in 2022, it is clear that the Democratic party has been given a significant advantage to conduct voter engagement in Arizona.

All of the 10 organizations that were selected have strong progressive foundations that appeal predominantly to Democrat voters. The organizations include Arizona Center for Disability Law, Arizona’s Student Association, Chicanos Por La Causa, Equality Arizona Foundation, Inspire 2 Vote – Project High Hopes, Mi Familia Vota, One Arizona, Phoenix Indian Center, Rock the Vote, The Civics Center.

Rock the Vote is a well known left-leaning voter engagement organization that has made a point to reach voters who are likely to vote in favor of progressive policy. The other organizations selected are not much different.

This program is an outrage and must be scrapped immediately. It is unfair to voters and is pushing policy on behalf of the state of Arizona.

We encourage you to voice concern about this program by emailing Arizona Secretary of State, Arizona Republican Party, Arizona Federation of Republican Women, Arizona State Senate Republican Caucus, Arizona State University College Republicans, Goldwater Institute, Center for Arizona Policy.

While this conundrum may apply specifically to the state of Arizona, a final question is how many other states are hosting biased voter engagement programs similar to this that favor certain voters over others?

For more information about progressive voter engagement organizations, many of which Arizona Secretary of State has chosen to work with, we encourage you to read a research paper published by Republican Atheists’ President Lauren Ell, titled “A Threat to Democracy: Unmasking America’s Voter Engagement Organizations.” Access here.
